RICHIE HAYES

Richie has been in the entertainment world from the age of four. Since than he has appeared in all aspects of the business. He spent a lot of his teenage years at the Theatre Royal Waterford with practically every musical society in the City in productions such as: Little Shop of Horrors, Godspell, Fiddler on the Roof, The Boyfriend (Lord Brochurst), Chorus Line (Ritchie), Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Benjamin), Oliver (Artful Dodger) in which he won the adjudicator's award in WIFLO.How to success in Business without Really Trying (Finch), Showboat (Rubberface), in which he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in Aims. Hard Times (Tom Gradgrind), Jesus Christ Superstar (Annas), Cabaret (Emcee).

In November of 2000 Richie moved to Dublin where he began working Professionally making his debut at The Gaiety Theatre's pantomime Aladdin as Wishiee Washie to rave reviews each year, he's now been resident there for the last five seasons in productions of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Windy), Sleeping Beauty (Kermit) Cinderella (Buttons) and Jack and the Beanstalk (Soft Sean) alongside names such as Mick Lally, Frank Kelly and Ronnie Drew.

Other Theatre Credits Include: Man of La Mancha (Sancho Panza), Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow) Cork Opera House, She Stoops to Conquer, (Little Aminadab) The Abbey Theatre, Crabbed Youth and Age (Tommy Mims) Bewley's Café Theatre, The Wiremen (Tommo Kavanagh) SFX Theatre, Hot Mikado (Ko Ko) in which he was awarded the Adjudicator s Award at WIFLO 2004.

Richie has appeared in a number of variety shows as a guest artist both in the UK and Ireland at the Olympia, The National Concert Hall and with The Billie Barry Stage School in All I Wanna do is Dance at (The Gaiety Theatre), Magic of the Musicals (Cork Opera House) He was part of the cast of RTE, s radio one’s recording of Noah & his Fabulous Floating Ark (Japhet) along with Des Keogh and Rosaleen Linehan.

Working as a session vocalist he has recorded with acts such as The Celtic Tenors, Noël V Ginity, Tony Kenny, Johnny Mc Evoy, Paul Redmond, Liam O Connor, a number of TV and Radio ad campaigns and most recently with Walt Disney s latest film Ella Enchanted. He was the singer of the winning song I Swear in the Nivita song contest in Cork in 2001.He released his debut album Go the Distance in 2003 to great success when the title track reached number two in the top 100 songs of 2003 voted by the listeners of WLR and "Lost it all" was number 1 in the most requested chart for 4 weeks. Youthfully Irish is the latest album from Richie feature a number of contemporary Irish songs. He has been the recipient of a number of awards including The Waterford Crystal/WLR Arts and Entertainment award for 2002 and The Tower Hotel Excellence Award 2005 for his achievements in his career so far. He now fronts the World famous Jury's Irish Cabaret, Ballsbridge Dublin where he follows in the footsteps of Tony Kenny and fellow Waterford man Hal Roche.
