NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SELECTED DUBLIN

Great news! Dublin has been selected as one of National Geographic Traveler's 21 'Best of the World' destinations for 2018.  The selection process included impressive nominations from publication's worldwide network of writers, editors and explorers.

"These are 21 destinations around the world selected and reported on by our editors that reveal the beauty of the wild, the creativity of our cultures and the superlatives of our cities," said George Stone, Editor in Chief, National Geographic Travelers.

The inspiring list of destinations will be revealed in the December 17/ January 2018 issue of the magazine, which has over 9.6 million readers.

With a global readership blessed with the 'travel gene' and the highest passport ownership of any magazine, Dublin will extend its warm welcome to every single one of them, as is its unsual demeanour.

Dublin is home of the 'black stuff' and at The Guinness Storehouse, you can go behind the scenes and see how the famous brew is made as you enjoy panoramic views of the city from its famous Gravity Bar.

Just outside the city's urban jungle lies Phoenix Park- Europe's largest enclosed city park- and the home of Dublin Zoo and its resident herd of fallow deer.

The oldest pub in Ireland is reputed to be located in Dublin. The pub is called the Brazen Head.  There has been a pub on this site since 1198.

Trinity College has educated the likes of Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift and Jack Gleeson. The campus is home to the Book of Kells, a stunning Early Christian illuminated manuscript.
