2017 US SYMPHONY TOUR

The Celtic Thunder 2017 US Symphony Tour kicks off in Miami, FL on 14th of November 2017, following Celtic Thunder’s 10th Anniversary Cruise. This will be the second Symphony Tour for Celtic Thunder, who will depart from their traditional and critically-acclaimed large set productions to perform ‘Fan Favorites’ and some brand new material from their ‘Inspirational’ album which will be released this September, in a dynamic live music experience accentuated by the instrumentals of a full symphony orchestra.

AUTHENTIC IRISH RECIPES - JULY 2017

This month, we have a wonderful garlicy potato salad recipe, lamb with nectarines and gorgeous moist chocolate brownies for that little late afternoon treat! Lamb farming is a very traditionally meal here in Ireland. Because of our mild weather, lambs are normally outside all year and are primarily grass fed making it nearly organic! This makes lamb the perfect meal choice for all the family.

 

 

 

 

DONEGAL BEACHES

Donegal has a coastline of 722 miles and it has the most gorgeous beaches to walk on, swim, sail or just take in the breathtakingly seascapes.  There is way too many to mention so instead we have picked the 12 blue flagged beaches.  Blue flagged beaches mean the water is clean, the beaches are clean and environmentally managed and they are safe to swim in.

TOMMY FLEMING – VOICE OF HOPE DVD

This month’s issue features Tommy Fleming’s DVD ‘Voice Of Hope’ as the DVD of the month.

The recording took place in the Basilica at Knock, Co Mayo. Filmed before an audience of 5000, Tommy Fleming’s Voice of Hope is a collection of uplifting and inspirational music that pays tribute to the sacred place where Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist are said to have appeared to 15 people in August of 1879.

DANIEL O’DONNELL – 'FORTY SHADES OF GREEN'

A collection of Daniel O’Donnell’s earliest recordings. Made in 1984 Daniel sings Irish songs including ‘Galway Bay’, ‘Forty Shades of Green’ and ‘The Old Rustic Bridge’.

Daniel O’Donnell is without a doubt, one of Ireland’s greatest loved and brilliant performer.

THE DONEGAL CYCLE ROUTE

The Donegal Cycle Route will bring you around the beautiful coastline and through some of our County’s most spectacular landscapes. In order to plan your journey the cycle route has been broken down into 14 Sections or Stages. It will take you into or close to the services and tourist centres of Mountcharles, Inver, Ardara, Dungloe, Loughanure, Crolly, Dunlewey, Creeslough, Glen, Milford, Ramelton and Letterkenny.

 

 

 

 

 

AROUND AND ABOUT IN BUNDORAN

Bundoran is a sandy beach facing Donegal Bay and the Atlantic. With Bundoran’s main street only 250 meters away, there are lots of activities to get involved in and many amenities within walking distance, including cafes, restaurants and hotels.The beach is very popular with surfers, but beginners are advised to be aware of the rocks and reefs, which can be very dangerous.

GWEEDORE, THE HEART OF THE GAELTACHT AREA

Gweedore (Irish version; Gaoth Dobhair) is in the heart of the Gaeltacht area. Gaeltacht means an area that mainly speaks the Irish language. It is the largest Irish speaking area in Ireland. Gweedore is very famous for its Irish music and has many famous Irish musicians from the area including Clannad, Enya and Altan. Gweedore is in the northwest of Donegal.

HISTORICAL DOE CASTLE IN SHEEPHAVEN BAY

Doe Castle sits deep in Sheephaven Bay, in a spectacular location on the shore near Creeslough village. It was a stronghold of the MacSweeney Clan who came to Donegal from Scotland as Gallowglasses (professional fighters).
